Description

A new outpatient maternal wellness clinic in Lubbock, Texas is seeking a part-time Medical Director (Contract) to provide physician oversight for an early pregnancy and preconception support model.

This clinic will focus on early pregnancy reassurance, baseline evaluation (labs + limited diagnostic ultrasound), and appropriate referral into routine OB care.

This role is ideal for a physician who values proactive, patient-centered care and wants to support families early—before traditional obstetric access is available.

Key Responsibilities Include:

*Develop and approve clinical standing orders and protocols
*Provide physician supervision for nursing and ultrasound staff
*Review laboratory results and limited diagnostic ultrasound reports
*Guide appropriate next-step referrals: Routine follow-up with the patient’s OB or Prompt evaluation in the emergency department when indicated
*Participate in periodic chart review and quality oversight
*Serve as the clinical leader ensuring compliance and safe scope of practice

The clinic provides education and referral support, not comprehensive prenatal care or ongoing obstetric management.

Requirements

Qualifications

*MD or DO (Family Medicine or OB/GYN preferred)
*Active Texas medical license (required)
*Comfortable providing physician oversight in an outpatient setting
*Experience with women’s health, early pregnancy, or wellness-based care is a plus
*Ability to collaborate within a nurse + sonographer clinical model
*Strong clinical judgment and commitment to appropriate referral-based care
